ChordTab Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 26, 2026

ChordTab converts MP3 files into chord sheets. This policy explains the essential data ChordTab handles when you use the ChordTab service.

Data ChordTab Handles

When you choose an MP3, ChordTab uploads it to chordtab.app so the backend can generate TXT and PDF chord sheets. The backend may also process the filename, file type, file size, SHA-256 hash, generated outputs, request status, and request ID.

The service may use a locally generated session ID and basic app, browser, or device metadata, such as app version, operating system, browser, manufacturer, and model. Like most web services, the backend may receive network information such as IP address through normal requests.

ChordTab does not require an account, login, payment information, contacts, phone number, precise location, advertising ID, or address book access.

How ChordTab Uses Data

ChordTab uses uploaded audio and related data to generate chord sheets, show previews and downloads, operate the service, prevent abuse, measure traffic, debug problems, and maintain rate limits. ChordTab does not use uploaded MP3 files or generated chord sheets to train AI models.

Public And Private Conversions

The Show in Recently Analyzed checkbox is on by default. If it stays on, the conversion may appear publicly with details such as title, key, tempo, status, and request ID, and available public outputs may be opened while downloads are active. If you turn it off, the conversion is still uploaded and processed, but it is not listed publicly.

Local Storage On Your Device

ChordTab may store its session ID and My Recent results on your device or browser. Local results may include title, request ID, TXT chord sheet, creation time, and a cached PDF. You can delete local recent items in the service; this does not delete server-side requests or public Recently Analyzed entries.

Retention And Deletion

Uploaded MP3 files and generated output files are deleted from server-side storage after 7 days. ChordTab may keep limited request metadata and logs for operation, security, debugging, rate limiting, and abuse prevention. To request deletion of server-side request metadata, contact support@chordtab.app and include the request ID if you have it.

Sharing And Analytics

ChordTab does not sell personal information. Uploaded audio and generated outputs are processed by the ChordTab backend and the infrastructure providers used to run the service. The website uses Google Analytics to understand traffic and improve the service.

Children And Permissions

ChordTab is not intended for children under 13. Only upload audio you have permission to process.
